The respective ratio between numerical values of curved surface area and volume of right circular cylinder is 1 : 7. If the respective ratio between the diameter and height of the cylinder is 7 : 5, what is the total surface area of the cylinder ? [in \( \large m^{2} \)]
Correct Answer: Description for Correct answer:
According to question,
\( \Large \frac{2 \pi rh}{ \pi r^{2}h} \) = \( \Large \frac{1}{7} \)
\( \Large \frac{2}{r} \) = \( \Large \frac{1}{7} \)
r = 14 m
\( \Large \frac{2r}{h} \) = \( \Large \frac{7}{5} \) => \( \Large \frac{2 x 14}{h} \) = \( \Large \frac{7}{5} \)
h = 20 m
Total surface area of cyclinder = 2\( \large \pi \)r( r + h)
= 2 x \( \Large \frac{22}{7} \) x 14 ( 14 + 20)
= 22 x 4 x 34 = 2992 \( \large m^{2} \)
