Two trains of lengths 105 m and 90 m, respectively run at the speeds of 45 km/h and 72 km/h, respectively in opposite directions on parallel tracks. Find the time which they take to cross each other.

A) 5 s

B) 6 s

C) 7 s

D) 8 s

Correct Answer:
B) 6 s

Description for Correct answer:

Total length of the train =105+ 90 = 195m

Relative speed = 72 + 45 km/h

= \( \Large \left(117 \times \frac{5}{18}\right) = \frac{585}{18} m/s \)

Therefore, Required time = \( \Large \left(195 \times \frac{18}{585}\right) \) = 6 s
