A train passes two persons who are walking in the direction opposite to the direction of train at the rate of 10 m/s and 20 m/s respectively in 12 s and 10 s, respectively. Find the length of the train.

Let the speed of the train be x.

According to the question,

\( \Large \left(x+10\right) \times 12 = \left(x+20\right) \times 10 \)

=> \( \Large 6x +60 = 5x + 100 \)

=> \( \Large x = 100 - 60 = 40 m/s \)

Therefore, Length of the train = \( \Large \left(x+10 \times 12\right) \)

= \( \Large \left(40+10\right) \times 12 \) = 600 m
