# Find the area of a rectangle whose one side is 9 mts. and the length of the diagonal is 15 mts.

From triangle ABC

$$\Large AC^{2}=AB^{2}+BC^{2}$$

$$\Large AB^{2}=AC^{2}-BC^{2}$$

=$$\Large 15^{2}-9^{2}= \left(15+9\right) \left(15-9\right)$$

=$$\Large 24 \times 6 = 144$$

$$\Large AB = \sqrt{144} = 12 mts.$$

Area = $$\Large 12 \times 9 = 108 m^{2}$$
