From the Triangle ABC find AB.

$$\Large AC^{2}=AB^{2}+BC^{2}$$

$$\Large 5^{2}=AB^{2}+BC^{2}$$

$$\Large AB^{2}=5^{2}-BC^{2}=5^{2}-3^{2}=25-9=16$$

$$\Large AB=\sqrt{16}$$ = 4 cm.

Area of the triangle = $$\Large \frac{1}{2}bh$$

=$$\Large \frac{1}{2} \times 3 \times 4$$= 6 sq. cm.
