# The diameter of the base of a right circular cylinder is 14 cm, while its length is 40 cm. Find the total surface area of the cylinder.

Total surface area of cylinder

= $$\Large 2 \pi r \left(h + r\right)$$

Given that, $$\Large r = \frac{14}{2}$$ = 7 cm, h = 40 cm

Therefore, Required total surface area

= $$\Large 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times \left(40 + 7\right)$$

= $$\Large 44 \times 47 = 2068 sq. cm.$$
