Mr. X invested a certain amount in Debit and Equity funds in the ratio of 4 : 5 respectively. At the end of one year, he earned a total dividend of 30% on his investment. After one year he reinvested the amount including dividend in the ratio of 6 : 7 in Debit and Equity Funds. If the amount reinvested in Equity Funds was Rs 94.500/-. what was the original amount invested in Equity Funds ?
Correct Answer: Description for Correct answer:
Let the common ratio be x.
The amount invested in Debit Funds: 4x
The amount invested in Equity Funds = 5x
After one year, Mr. X's total amount (including dividend)
= \( \Large 4x \times \frac{130}{100} + 5x \times \frac{130}{100} \)
According reinvested in Equity Funds =\( \Large 11.7x \times \frac{7}{13} \)
\( \Large 11.7x \times \frac{7}{13} = 94500 \)
\( \Large 6.3x = 94500 \)
\( \Large x = 15000 \)
The original amount invested in Equity Fund = 5 X 15000 = Rs 75,000/-
