A and B started business by investing Rs.35000 and 20000 respectively. After 5 months B left the business and C joined the business with the sum of Rs.15000. The profit earned at the end of year is Rs.84125. What is the share of B in profit?

Ratio of equivalent capitals of A, B and C
= (35000 X 12) : (20000 X 5) : (15000 X 7)
=35 X 12 : 20 X 5 : 15 X 7
= 84 : 20 : 21
Let A's share = 84x
B's share = 20x
C's share = 21x
According to the question, 84x + 20x + 21x = 84125
= > 125x = 84125
X = (84125 / 125) = 673
B's share = 20x = 20 X 673 = Rs.13460
