Three numbers are A, B and C are in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3 and their average is 600. If A is increases by 10% and B is decrease by 20%, then the average increased by 5%. C will be increase by :

A) 250

B) 150

C) 200

D) 160

E) 180

Correct Answer:
E) 180

Description for Correct answer:
Let the three numbers A, B and C are x, 2x ar respectively.

According to question,

\( \Large \frac{x + 2x + 3x}{3} = 600 \)

\( \Large 6x = 600 \times 3 \)

\( \Large x = 300 \)

Value of A after increment= \( \Large 300 \times \frac{110}{100} = 330 \)

Value of B= \( \Large 600 \times \frac{80}{100} = 480 \)

Value of average = \( \Large 600 \times \frac{105}{100} = 630 \)

Now again according to question,

\( \Large \frac{330 + 480 + C}{3} = 630 \)

\( \Large C = 1890 - 810 \)

\( \Large C = 1080 \)
