In a 500 m race between A and B. A wins by 20m. In the same race between A and C, A wins by 30 m, If B and C were to run a 500 m race, who will win the race and by how much?

Correct Answer:

A) B, 10.5 meters

Description for Correct answer:
When A runs 500 m race, B runs 480 , C will run 470 m.

From this, we know that when B runs 480 m, C will run 470 m.

Therefore, when B runs 500 m C will run \( \Large \frac{470}{480} \times 500 \) = 489.5 m.

Therefore B will win the race and will win by 10.5 m.
