Then, first speed = \( \Large \frac{x}{y} km/h \)

Again, \( \Large \frac{x}{2} \) is covered in 4y h.

New speed = \( \Large \left(\frac{x}{2} \times \frac{1}{4y}\right) = \left(\frac{x}{8y}\right) km/h \)

Ratio of speeds = \( \Large \frac{x}{y} : \frac{x}{8y} = 1 : \frac{1}{8} = 8 : 1 \)
