Ravi ate in a restaurant and got a membership discount of 30% on the original bill amount but he had to pay 10% as service tax and 8% service charge on the discounted bill amount. If Ravi paid Rs.4,743, which included a tip of Rs.200, how much money did he give as service charge?

Description for Correct answer:
Let the bill after 30% discount be Rs. x.

According to the question,

\( \Large \frac{x \times 118}{100}=4743-200 \)

=> \( \Large \frac{x \times 118}{100} \) = 4543

=> x = \( \Large \frac{4543 \times 100}{118} \) = Rs.3850

Therefore, Service charge = \( \Large \frac{3850 \times 8}{100} \) = Rs.308
