If the average rate of interest earned from the two customers is11.5% p.a.. then how much did he lend to the customer who pays him interest at the rate of 15% p.a.?

A) Rs.200

B) Rs.400

C) Rs.100

D) Rs.300

Correct Answer:
D) Rs.300

Description for Correct answer:
The interest rates are given as 10% and 15% and the average interest is 11.5% p.a. So, we can use the alligation rule to determine the ratio in which the amount has been lent at the two different interest rates
Using the alligation rule,

Therefore he has lent Rs.700 to the customer who pays interest at the rate of 10% p. a. and Rs.300 to the customer who pay interest at the rate of 15% p. a.
