A and B together can do a work in 10 days. B and C together can do the same work in 6 days. A and C together can do the work in 12 days. Then A, B and C together can do the work in :
Correct Answer: |
|
C) 5\( \Large \frac{5}{7} \) days |
|
|
Description for Correct answer:
(A + B)' s one day work = \( \Large \frac{1}{10} \)
(B + C)'s one day's work = \( \Large \frac{1}{6} \)
(A + C) 's one day's work = \( \Large \frac{1}{12} \)
Therefore 2 (A + B + C )'s one day work = \( \Large \frac{1}{10} \) + \( \Large \frac{1}{6} \) + \( \Large \frac{1}{12} \)
= \( \Large \frac{6+10+5}{60} \) = \( \Large \frac{21}{60} \) = \( \Large \frac{7}{20} \)
(A + B + C )'s one day work = \( \Large \frac{7}{20} \) * \( \Large \frac{1}{2} \) = \( \Large \frac{7}{40} \)
so, A, B and C will complete that wprk in \( \Large \frac{40}{7} \) or 5 \( \Large \frac{5}{7} \) days
