Two fill pipes A and B can fill a tank in 12 minutes and 15 minutes respectively. A drain pipe at the bottom when opened in tandem with the two fill pipes will result in the tank getting filled in 12 minutes. How long will the drain pipe take to empty the tank?
Correct Answer: Description for Correct answer:
\( \Large \frac{1}{A}+\frac{1}{B}-\frac{1}{C}=\frac{1}{12} \)
\( \Large \frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{15}-\frac{1}{C}=\frac{1}{12} \)
\( \Large \frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{15}-\frac{1}{12}=\frac{1}{C} \)
or C = 15 min.
The drain pipe will take 15 minutes to empty the tank.
