Mani Ram divides Rs.17200 amongst his 5 sons, 4 daughters and 2 friends. If each daughter receives four times as much as each friend receives and each son receives five times as much as each friend receives, how much does each daughter receive?

A) Rs.800

B) Rs.1500

C) Rs.1000

D) Rs.1600

Correct Answer:
D) Rs.1600

Description for Correct answer:

Let share of each friend = x.

Then, share of each daughter = 4x.

and share of each son = 5x.

According to the question.

\( \Large 5 \times 5x + 4 \times 4x + 2 \times x = 17200 \)

=> \( \Large 25x + 16x + 2x = 17200 \)

=> 43x = 17200

Therefore, x = \( \Large \frac{17200}{43} \) = Rs.400

Share of each daughter = 4 X 400 = 1600
